The Process for Your
DIY Website

Your DIY website should have a strategy in mind. That is why we are providing you with the necessary information you need to make that happen.

Step 1: Choose Your Website Design.

We have many different website design templates available for you to choose from. Browse through the library and let us know which design you would like to proceed with.

Step 2: Setup the Website

Our team will get started with the setup of your design template and install the plugins included in your package. When complete, you will receive your login information to get started.

We require 1-2 business days to complete.

Step 3: Setup Your Website Settings

Log into your website to get things started then navigate to Appearance > Customize. These are the settings required. Any others you find are at your discretion.

Site Identity:

  1. Site Identity – your company name
  2. Tagline – a brief sentence of what you offer

Homepage Settings:

  1. Your homepage displays – a static page
  2. Homepage – Home
  3. Posts page – if you will be adding blogs to your website, create your Blog page first then drop the menu down to Blog.

Layout > Site:

  1. Logo Text – your company name
  2. Logo Image – upload a .png file of your logo.
  3. Width – 200
  4. Mobile Logo – add your logo
  5. Width – 150

Layout > Header:

  1. Choose the layout you want for the top portion of your website.

Style:

  1. Global – This is where you will set up your brand colours and fonts.
  2. Components – As you start to build out your content and based on the elements you use to do so, you may want to refer back to this section to set up any colours for those elements.

Step 4: Build Your Content

We highly recommend you keep this strategy in mind when building out the following pages on your website:

  • Home page
  • Each product/service you offer (each should have its own page)
  • About page

Other pages to consider on your website that do not need to follow the strategy:

  • Contact page (if using a form, use the Gravity Forms plugin we installed for you)
  • Portfolio
  • FAQ’s
  • Terms of Service
  • Privacy Policy
  • Blogs

Step 5: Test Your Website

You’ve completed your website and should now vet through to make sure everything looks good and functions properly.

  • Check for broken links
  • Test your forms
  • Ensure pages are mobile responsive

Step 6: Launch Your Website

The final stage in the website process is launching the website. Depending on who you want to manage your DNS, we will update the DNS information for you or will send it over to you to make the update.
