Being part of Kingston means being part of an exclusive club… you get to experience the beauty of the city daily, and take in the sites only Kingstonians are lucky enough to see unless of course, you’re a tourist.  In this blog post, we are going to explore some local establishments that are pure gold. If you live in Kingston, or ever visited Kingston you will definitely know most of these restaurants but if you haven’t.. run don’t walk!

Let’s start with the most important meal of the day… breakfast! Where do we even start? In no particular order, let’s start with Pan Chancho Bakery.. simply, you cannot go wrong. Everything is delicious; the sides, the coffee, the mimosa’s.. it’s a dream come to true to a Foodie’s brunch lovin’ heart. Next, we must mention Toast & Jam. The atmosphere is so fun, and you’ll probably run into a friend. The food is unique, fresh, and always tasty. Connected to Bread & Butter, you can’t leave without a sweet treat to go! Moving Down Under, we must talk about Northside Espresso & Kitchen with fantastic Aussie-inspired dishes. The plates will blow your mind, and the creative juices & cocktails are always a real treat. The standard breakfast spot always has and always will- be there for you – Morrison’s. Bacon, eggs, toast… hasn’t changed,  always quick, friendly, and affordable! Lastly, we want to mention a local favourite for those mornings where you have it together and want to get a little fancy with breaky! Visit Chez Piggy for a delightful upscale breakfast that is sure to please you and that special someone.

Now that restaurants have re-opened and we can finally see friends & family outside our households, going for lunch in the city has got to be top on your priority list.. especially with the wonderful options the city has. Let’s start with a personal favourite- Red House. With its large tables to accommodate groups, the friendly staff, and endless local beers on tap, it’s a true gem in the city. With two locations to choose from, you will never go wrong with picking RH for lunch. In the mood for a delicious burger? Head down to Harpers and choose from one of their many delicious recipes or build your own…they also have waffle fries..enough said! In a hurry or heading to the park for lunch? Stop by the Golden Rooster Delicatessen for an infamous sandwich, pro tip: ask for an extra pickle on the side.

If you like amazing food, great music, and an ambiance that you’ll never forget, head to any of Kingston’s acclaimed local establishments for the dinner of your dreams. If you like pizza, and let’s be honest- who doesn’t? Head downtown to Woodenheads for a famous appetizer and pizza. The only thing better than dinner will be the dessert you choose off the lengthy menu. In the mood for Italian? Casa Domenico will delight your palate whether it be the main dishes or the wine selection. Casa is the perfect spot to people watch, and take in views of market square year-round. For a fun atmosphere, with great service, check out Atomica for yummy eats and jaw-dropping cocktails… with mood lighting and interesting dishes, you will not be disappointed. Last but certainly not least, if you are on the West End of the City, treat yourself to one of Kingston’s best-hidden gems at Days on Front Restaurant. Talk about a fan favourite, they not only make amazing food but use locally sourced ingredients… it really is the ultimate Kingston experience.

Now that we are all drooling, why don’t we meet for a beer and an appetizer or two? Come on, it’s on me.
