When Webworks Was Nominated

We were contacted by the Chamber that we had been nominated as a new business of the year. I was completely shocked and had no idea who would have nominated us. It was a super proud moment for me because I know how hard we work and it was such an amazing feeling to be recognized for that.

As a nominee, we were asked a series of question which you can find below:

  • Please describe the nature of your business

Kingston Webworks was built to service local businesses in Kingston as its sister company FrontRunner Professional has been building websites and offering marketing services to Funeral Homes across North America for over 20 years. We saw a need for years; our friends, family, and acquaintances were asking for our services and we got tired of saying no. Thus began Kingston Webworks, along with our slogan: Making the Web Work for Local Businesses!

    • We started with a salesperson and a web designer and quickly grew to include the staff we have on board today.
    • We are futuristic
    • We are dedicated
    • We care
    • Passionate
    • Started out with a team of 3 and now have created a bigger team with the help of FrontRunner
  • What have you done to establish their business?

    • New business growth of over 100% in our first year of business.
    • Over 50% growth in employees in the first year of business
    • Product expansion (apps, social, SEO). We were just a web company when we started

  • What service initiatives have you undertaken to create customer satisfaction and build customer relationships since creation?

    • Our team makes sure to be 100% there for clients. In total, we have 74 clients and I can guarantee we could each tell you personal details about each client; where they are from, what they do for fun, maybe even what their favourite restaurant in town is. We have very close relationships with our clients, and we trust them just as much as they trust us.
    • We constantly tell our clients we offer 24/7 support because we truly do! There is very rarely a time when a client’s project manager is not available for support. This is a massive advantage of what we offer compared to competitors.
    • We dedicate ourselves to our clients and their needs. Understanding the client and their business needs are most important. We then rally our team and resources to help deliver the best products and experience.
    • We care – this statement is simple but expresses our genuine passion to help our clients in any circumstances. We are known to offer a hand whenever a client may need something for an event, a staff meeting, etc.
    • We are involved in so many community events up to including giving back to our community with donated services for charities.
    • Our customers are like partners/friends/family

The Winning Night

The awards ceremony took place at the Kingston Banquet and Conference Center at Days Inn. I was so excited but super nervous. I couldn’t get myself to enjoy the dinner because of how nervous I was. My gut was telling me we were going to win it. I had a speech planned then forgot everything. When our category of nominees was being announced and I heard them announce the winner – Kingston Webworks, I got up there and just went with whatever came out of my mouth. I’m not sure if I was perceived as being nervous but man, was I ever! When I stepped off that stage with the award I had the biggest smile on my face.

I couldn’t have done this without my amazing team and the clients who have supported us.
