How Do I Remove a Google Review?
Table of Contents
The only way to remove a Google review is if it violates Google’s policies. Make sure to read their policies to ensure you can remove the review from your business profile. If it does not violate, the first thing you need to do is report the review.
How to Report a Review to Google
- Log into your Search Console.
- From within your business profile, click on Reviews.
- Locate the review you would like to report.
- Click “Tap More” then Report review.
When to Remove a Google Review
No business likes any negative comments about their business, so when someone leaves a negative review, it’s easy for us to react and want to remove it quickly. However, that is not the way it works. Google does not allow you to remove a review because you disagree with what the person is saying or simply don’t like it. So instead, take this opportunity to reply to the person who left the review with a professional response.
Rather than the need to remove the review, learn how to respond to a negative one. I’ve always believed it’s better to be left with a negative review than to have people speak negatively behind your back. This way, it allows you to set the record straight. Others viewing your reviews can see the response and how well you handled it. For more information, visit our Tips on Responding to Online Positive and Negative Reviews blog.
