Weekend Wellness Program

The Webworks and YourSocial Strategy team came together to take part in the Weekend Wellness Program. This is an initiative put on by Lionhearts that helps families who could use some extra food as there is not enough in their homes for their families. We rallied the troops, including our kiddos, and met at the warehouse on May 31 from 6 pm – 8 pm.
Food for the Weekend Wellness Program
When we arrived, not only was there food for people but dogs as well. The truck got loaded up with dog food, which Ryan helped drive to where it was needed. The dog food is in large bags which some people are kind enough to distribute to those who have pets and need some dog food.
Meanwhile, the Lionhearts van was filled with bags of carrots and boxes of crackers. Monika, the twins, and I started loading up the carts with all of the food.
These carts were so heavy I struggled to push them into the warehouse but my kids insisted on letting them do it. With some help, the carts were successfully moved inside.
The Tasks
There were 3 different tasks laid out for us:
- With all of the carrots we had, the team and I took 5 carrots and placed them into a separate bag. They were knotted and put into boxes to prepare to be taken to where they’re needed.
- Unbox all of the crackers into their individual boxes.
- Put together 250 boxes that needed to be taped at the bottom. We got the boxes put together and the majority of them taped but it was getting late so left some for the team taking part in the program the next day.
An End to a Successful Night
We were thrilled to be a part of this program. If you check out our photos, I think you can see the enjoyment on our faces. For those who are interested in volunteering, you can visit their website.
