6 Ways to Increase Your PPC Conversion Rate

PPC conversion rate is the percentage of your traffic from PPC ads that convert to customers. So if you generate 200 clicks per month from PPC ads and 20 of those visitors become customers, your conversion rate is 10%.

PPC, also known as pay-per-click, is a form of advertising on search engines. You know when you are searching for something on Google, for example, and you see the top results have ‘AD’ beside them? Those are paid ads businesses run to rank higher on search engines. In this article, we go over the meaning of a PCC conversion rate and what is considered good for your business.

What is Considered a Good PPC Conversion Rate?

If you are converting more than 10% to loyal customers, I’d say things are working well for your business.

How Do You Increase Your PPC Conversion Rate?

Create a heading your audience can’t ignore. People tend to choose things that have a visual appeal. Much like the cover of a book, a catchy headline must get creative enough, so your visitor has to see what it’s all about. This can be done by providing a sense of urgency or an incentive. Google allows 90 characters for your headline, so don’t let any go to waste.

Create a landing page. Each segment should have its own landing page so you can direct your target audience to the right landing page. Once done, you want to optimize each landing page.

Optimize your landing page(s). You want to make sure when your visitor lands on the page, the information is simple to understand and gets to the point. You need to tell the visitor exactly what they will be getting.

Use specific keywords for your ad. Make sure your ad represents the keywords being searched for. This will help get clicks through to your landing page. Doing so will improve your quality score and therefore increase your ROI.

Don’t forget about the mobile ads. More users are browsing on their phones rather than sitting on a computer screen or laptop. You will notice that when people are out of their homes, they’re always on their phones. Whether it be a phone call or scrolling on social media. How many times have you been out shopping and stopped to look on your phone for something about what you’re out for in the first place? For example, “buy a patio set” versus “what is the best patio set.” The research phase tends to be done on your own time, whereas the buying can happen when you’re already out. Consider that when creating your ads.

Provide your content through other resources. It’s not often that people buy the first time they see something. Providing more information about your content through other avenues can help with buying. This can be done through webinars, social media, ebooks, podcasts, or videos.
